A well-known geologist, academician of As USSR. Was born on August 11, 1876, village Lamaniha, Vologda province, has died on June 20, 1953, Moscow; geologist, mineralogist, petrographist, physics-chemists, Corr. memb. of the department of mathematical and natural sciences (petrography) since February 1, 1933, academician of the department geological - geographical sciences (mineralogy, petrography), since September 27, 1943.
   He was a director of Hibiny Mountain Station SA USSR, 1945 - 1952.
   The basic works are devoted to the problems of general, theoretical and technical petrography and mineralogy also. The particular importances have the examinations of Ilmenskie Rocks. Resent intrusive rocks, with wichore deposits are lanced were found and studded by him at Caucasus. Faces differed these intrusions from ancient similar composition were defined by him. Dmitry S. Beliankin considered that the variety of types of mountain rocks of magma intrusion and containing rocks. He studded rock-forming minerals, which have theoretical and practical significance, rare minerals and "technological stone" (refractory, ceramic articles, slags, abrasives, glass and others). He was one of there founders of technical petrography.
