Career: 1957- finals at Geological faculty of the Leningrad State University, 1963 - Candidate of Science (Geology - Mineralogy), the Leningrad State University, geology and petrology; 1976 - Doctor of Science (Geology - Mineralogy), the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of the USSR Academy of Science, Novosibirsk; 1990 - corr. member of the USSR Academy of Science, 1996 - professor of geology, 2000 - Academician of the Russian Academy of Science. Main elective offices: 1975- Vice-president of the Council of Precambrian Geology, Russia; 1986 - Chairman of the Council of the Geological Institute KSC RAS; 1988 - 1992 - co-manager of Russian-Norwegian Geological Project; 1986 - a member of the Presidium of Kola Science Center of the Russian Academy of Science; 1989 - 1993 - co-manager of the Project 285 IGCP "The Geology of the Baltic-Fennoscandinavian shield interior"; 1991 - A member of the Bureau of the Department of Geology, Geophysics, Geochemistry and Mining of the Russian Academy of Science; 1993 - coordinator of some programs INTAS on Geology of the Kola Peninsula; 1998 - co-manager of the Project 408 IGCP "Rocks and minerals at great depths and on the surface"; 1998 - co-manager of Russian-French joint study of Precambrian plum basite magmatism on the Kola Peninsula. Oversea trips: Scientific visits and trips to conferences into 29 countries (some of them repeatedly); 1976 - invited as a professor of Geology into the University of Renn (France).
Research interests: before 1986 - petrology and geology of Precambrian granites, magmatites and granulites were research objects in the South Siberia (East Sayans, Tuva), Mongolia, Ukraine, Karelia, France, Bulgaria and Czechoslovakia. Almost all publications were done in Russian language. From 1986 to 2000 regional and deep geology of the Kola part of the Baltic shield, geochronology, duration and geodynamics of Precambrian processes, laminated intrusions metallogeny and ore potential, especially platinum-palladium mineralization; prospecting of primary and gravel diamond deposits, new ornamental materials deposits (anorthosite and the other). Publications in Russian and English including international research data.
