(born on January 1, 1940). A.N.Vinogradov
graduated from the Leningrad state university (1961). A.N.Vinogradov holds a Ph.D. degree in geology
("Petrology and metallogenic peculiarities of porrjas-granites", 1968). A.N.Vinogradov used to work
at the Geological institute of KSC of the Russian Academy of Sciences from 1961 to 2003 as a senior
laboratory assistant, a junior researcher, the academic secretary of the institute, the head of.
Laboratory of magmatism and magmatogene mineralization (1985-2003), the academic secretary
of Presidium of the Kola branch of AS of the USSR (1985-1991), the main academic secretary and the
head of Department of international cooperation of the Kola science centre of the Russian Academy of
Sciences (since 1991). Since 2003 A.N.Vinogradov has been director of the Kola regional seismological
centre – a branch of Geophysical service of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The area of his scientific
interests is the development of mineragenic classificaton of magmatic series of early Precambrian,
reconstruction of endogenous modes of magmatism and conditions of formation of ore-magmatic systems;
the complex petrologo-geophysical studying of the deep structure; geoecology.

A.N.Vinogradov carried out the development of petrologic models of formation of Umba and Litsa-Araguba
intrusive complexes; the development of mineragenic classificaton of Precambrian magmatic formations,
creation of a map of magmatic formations of the 1:500 000 scale; typification of ore-magmatic systems of
granitoid formations and the estimation of their metallogenic potential; development of geologic-petrological
models of ore-bearing intrusives of Juovo-Ajv (Mo, W), Western Keivys (Zr, Nb, Ta, rare earth elements),
amazonite rand-pegmatites (Li, Y, Ta, Nb), uranium metasomatites and hydrothermalites. The results of
research are presented in 266 papers, 196 of them are published. As the academic secretary of presidium
of KSC of the Russian Academy of Sciences A.N.Vinogradov contributed much in the improvement of
scientific-organizational activity, development of international contacts; he initiated the establishment
of the Center of adaptation of man in the North at the KSC of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1997),
the International Studies centre in the Barentsregion (a member of the Academic council and the head
of some projects in 1995-2004). Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (1999),
member of Presidium, the academic secretary of the Murmansk regional centre of the Russian
Academy of Natural Sciences. Member of the board and the editorial board of the Fund "The Kola
Encyclopaedia", the academic secretary of the Coordination council of Murmansk region for

labour" (1986), P.L.Kapitsa (the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, 1999) and D.Kantemir (2004)
medals, certificates of honour of the Central Committee of All-Union Lenin Young Communist League
(Komsomol) and the Russian Academy of Sciences.
