Symposium Overview
The Eighth Symposium on Mining in the Arctic will be held in Apatity, Murmansk Region, during the early
summer of 2005. Apatity, the city of Northwest Russia, is easily accessible from Moscow, Saint Petersburg and
from Sweden, Finland and Norway. The post-symposium field trips will all depart from Apatity.
A comprehensive technical program is planned. Social events will focus on local cultural and leisure activities.
Presentation of a paper at the Symposium is a requirement for its inclusion in the Proceedings.
Registration fee is USD 700. The price of accommodation is USD 50-60 per night.
